Android 2.2 upgrade conflict with PDANET?

I bought the first phone Droid few months ago. I currently enjoy with the PdaNet app to (leash plug) my phone on my laptop so I have free wireless Internet access.? I go? Rt that the second upgrade to the new Android 2 operating system will disable this feature, because Verizon has been losing Verk? UFE on their wireless USB sticks. Wei? anybody know if this is true?
